Viking Danegeld Necklace Inspired by a 9th century piece found in the Hon Hoard. It has been suggested that the hoard represents part of the danegeld paid in Paris in 858. The danegeld was a sort of “tax” raised to buy off raiders to keep them from destroying cities. Necklaces like this are also referred to as a Viking Treasure Necklaces. |
